No Sale at Hemtex?

SocietyPosted by Maria 2009-01-30 12:48:00
Hemtex is a company in Sweden selling textile products, they are known for always having sale in their stores and that is not legal. I mean, you can't say you have sale all the time, then the sale prices are your ordinary prices. Today I read that KO will stop the sale at Hemtex in court. It made me laugh, haha.

The night of broken glass

SocietyPosted by Maria 2008-11-09 16:02:47
Today it's 70 years since the night of broken glass. When I think about it I feel sorrow and I get reminded about last summer when I visited the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin. All those concrete blocks. It was powerful. The area is 19000 square meters. There is also an underground information hall which holds the names of all known Jewish Holocaust victims and they also have copies of letters etc. sent by Jews during the Holocaust time. That day was just as today a thoughtful day. I'll light a candle tonight as my memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and the night of broken glass.

Wha? Ghosts, vampires and skeletons?

SocietyPosted by Maria 2008-11-01 10:54:05

Today is All Saints' Day, a memorial day for your close ones who are not with you anymore. You light candles by their graves and maybe also add other decorations. Here in Sweden though it seems that people has gone totally crazy. Alot of people are celebrating halloween today, they are having masquerades with horror costumes, drinking alcohol and behave in a way with no respect at all. According to my calendar halloween was yesterday and for those of you who like masquerades I have no problems with you celebrating then. Maybe I would've attended one aswell if I would've been invited to one yesterday. But I have no understanding what so ever for all of you who are celebrating halloween today. I just wish I was a little closer to the graveyard where my grandparents are buried but instead I'll light a candle for them at home and here on my blogsite.Blog Image
